look what I can do!

holy crow, it's been a while! I'm so sorry I haven't been able to write, all you imaginary people who read my blog!
I found a new way to occupy myself! (sort of.) I've mastered the art of avatar making!
what the heck is an avatar? is it contagious?
no, it's a small square icon people use on forums, blogs, and networking sites. they're usually a little picture with words on them.
here are some I made:

aren't they adorable? and they were so easy to make!

am I and Artiste, or what?

check out the similarity!
I have reconstructed "starry starry night" by van goh entirely out of cupcakes! it took 24 cupcakes and 2 and a half cans of frosting, and a whole bunch of food coloring. and I got the decorating done in less than an hour! how cool am I?

Caitlin and Kelly. er, Kelly and Caitlin.

hey, everybody! I just found this hot new band!
and I know them!

they're Kelly and Caitlin, or maybe it's Caitlin and Kelly...

can't quite remember which...

but they're absolutely awesome! they've both got beautiful voices and mad guitar skillz! I heard them play at a coffee house on Saturday, and I must say, I am now a big fan! I'm not entirely sure what their websites name is, but once I know, it'll be here.

in the meantime, here is a video to watch:

sorry, but the video might be a little dark. coffee shop lighting. psh.

wandering around Amish country...

thanks to insane amounts of cleaning and busy-ness (*cough* laziness *cough*) I was un-able to make a post about my excursion last saturday. I went to Amish country! all you big-city folks are probably choking right now. I can hear your distant screams. "AMISH COUNTRY?!?! EXCURSION???!? how crazy ARE these hoosiers?!? Is this why you guys are in 'flyover country'?"

I pity the fools.

it was really quite fun! up north their are these cute little gardens planted to look like quilts scattered throughout elkhart county. me, my mom, and my grammy all went to check it out. (that is TERRIBLE grammar, I know. I told you. I am NOT well about grammar.) We started out at a cute little amish store, where my mom bought a boatload of cinnamon sticks on the cheap. then we headed to a cute little town to a dime store and bought some vintage gum. we then had breakfast at a cute little coffee house. I ordered a luscious giant cinnamon roll absolutely SMOTHERED in buttercream frosting that still makes my mouth water. I also had some chai tea.

I love chai tea.

I just love it.
afterwards we went through the nappanee library.

this was an actual library within a library!

me and my grammy.

pace? what pace? there's no traffic! (lol, just kidding)

what we came for. look! it's a basket!

Philip Diller, the rooster.

wow. this hand-dryer sure did boost my self esteem. (sarcasm, sarcasm.)

we then went to the old bag factory. a small little mall of expensive boutiques.

needless to say, I didn't buy anything.

old train stuff in the old bag factory.

me and my family LOVE the show Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. (or triple D.) we love all the cool down-home restaurants they go to. we love Guy Fieri, and all his quirky sayings. it's a really good show.

impertinent? random? I don't think so.

after the old bag factory we just had to find someplace to eat. we were scared to death that this little soda shop would be closed. it's been around for a while, and we didn't know whether it had survived. but it was opened. I said, as I got out of the car "this looks like one of those places they'd go to on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives!" for it was a cute old fashioned Diner type place.
on the door there was a little sticker with the food network logo. it said "as seen on food network."

"no way..." I thought.

inside there were lots of pictures from the show "Diners, Drive-ins, and dives". my mom almost fell over.

this is where you get your ice cream. I had grilled cheese and fries, and a strawberry milkshake. it was bananas! (bananas is good.)

was that a money trip, or what?

bored to near certain death

I'm so bored. like really bored. there is seriously nothing to do on my own. so I've been doing nothing but watching tv, walking, and looking for cat pictures on the webbernet. here are some highlights:

happy (late) 4th of July!

I love fireworks. I love the sight, the sound, the smell... I ESPECIALLY like the concept of blowing stuff up! but yesterday was kind of a bummer here in the midwest. at around three o' clock it started to rain.

and rain.

and rain.

but not a hard rain, or a big storm. a long, drizzling rain that just wouldn't stop. the weather threatened to break loose any minute, so my family had to put off going to the local university to see the fireworks early to get a good spot. (believe me, we went last year five hours early and it was already packed.)
so we got there 2 hours before the fireworks were to start and parked a mile away from a reasonable spot. after 20 minutes of bickering about where the heck we were supposed to sit, we set off in search for a good-ish spot. after 2 hours, our waiting paid off. 20 minutes of fireworks.

whether it was worth the trouble or not, I don't know, but I eventually did have fun.

miracle whip

miracle whip has been given a bad rap for YEARS. people always saying that it's not as good as it's eggy cousin mayonaise, (yes, I spelled that wrong.) and that it will never be anything more than mere salad dressing.

this must be stopped.

I have reasons why miracle whip lives up to it's name:

1. it tastes way better than mayo. it's much less sour.
2. it's WAY better for you. it's, like, 30 calories!
3. it's just plain prettier. mayo has a sickly yellow tinge to it, whereas miracle whip is perfectly white.

it's also creamier.

so stop hating miracle whip.
have yourself an MW sandwich.
kick back and relax.

too much mountain dew.

I'm on the computer right now (obviously...) and I found these hilarious signs! I'm laughing my head off, probably because of all the caffeine I've been drinking.

aww....
